Ex-Universal Champion Returns To WWE After 450 Days At NXT Great American Bash
WWE NXT Great American Bash went head-to-head with AEWxNJPW’s Forbidden Door tonight, and WWE did everything they could to make this a highly entertaining show for the fans.
The 14th edition of the Great American Bash featured as many as five title matches on the card, including both the NXT and the NXT North American Championships.
The show also featured a massive return as former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens returned to television after being absent from wrestling television for 450 days.
Kevin Owens makes a huge WWE return tonight
Owens’ last WWE appearance came during the April 4, 2025, edition of Friday Night SmackDown, where he announced that he would require surgery on his neck injury, which would keep him out of action indefinitely.
As the former Universal Champion continues his recovery, he made a return to television tonight as he was present for the Tailgate and Watch Party, which is being held outside the Performance Center tonight.
Owens is at the event where he’s sharing his views about the first-ever NXT Premium Live Event to air on the CW Network. While fans were delighted to see Owens back on their screens, they still wait with bated breath for KO’s in-ring return.
