Chad Gable has been on an apology spree in WWE since losing his mask as the “Original” El Grande Americano.

Following his loss to El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) at AAA Noche de Los Grandes, Gable was unveiled as the man behind the mask.

The 40-year-old subsequently turned babyface and has been seen apologizing to other wrestlers, especially luchadors, for his past misdeeds.

Despite being gifted athletically and a technical mastermind, Chad Gable has had his share of slumps in the Stamford promotion as far as character development goes.

During his 2019 feud with Baron Corbin, Gable earned a hard-fought victory at Hell in a Cell. However, after the match, upon Corbin’s request, the announcer announced him as “Shorty Gable,” which was a direct reference to his height.

The title was then pruned to Shorty G, a gimmick which Gable believes to be the lowest point of his career.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast, the former WWE Tag Team Champion had touched upon the subject, claiming that he gave the character his all, but could not get the desired result.

I’ve often said, probably to nobody’s surprise, that was a pretty low point. But again, and I don’t want to get too repetitive but I was asking for opportunities on a weekly basis at that point. I was going into offices and being like, “Look, I need to work, I need to do anything.” Because I really wasn’t doing anything.

So I was given the Shorty G character persona. The last thing I’m going to do, my personality, the last thing I’m going to do is scoff at it and not give it whatever I can. Whatever effort I can is going to go into that because I’ve asked for it. I asked for anything, an opportunity and I was given it.

So I did the most I could with it. I think what it showed was that I am willing to contribute in whatever manner, if it’s down here, or up here, I’m willing to contribute whatever I can and whatever is asked of me.

Once you’ve proven that, that you’re going to do that and you’re not going to put on a booboo face and sit around and sulk around because you’re not happy with it. Then look at this guy, let’s give him some more. Okay, he showed us his grit, he showed us that he’s here for the long run. And I think that worked to my benefit hopefully.

Chad Gable Apologizes To The WWE Universe For Shorty G

Amid his apology streak, Chad Gable has now sent out another one.

This time around, it is for his Shorty G gimmick, which he portrayed in WWE between 2019 and 2020.

Gable’s apology came during a virtual appearance on the Good Karma Wrestling podcast.

I’ll apologize to you guys personally and the entire audience for Shorty G. How about that? I apologize. Will you at least accept? I know Maxxine and them didn’t, but you have to accept that one. It was my fault. That’s on me. [H/T: Fightful]

Gable’s last apology was to his former Alpha Academy stablemates Maxxine Dupri, Otis, and Akira Tozawa on the June 22 edition of WWE Raw.

Despite his trying to mend fences, the trio refused the offer, although only Dupri did so on everyone’s behalf.
