Championship Matches Set To Open & Main Event WWE NXT Great American Bash
There will be championship matches opening and closing the WWE NXT Great American Bash PLE.
The WWE NXT brand will present the Great American Bash PLE on Sunday, June 26th, with a 7 p.m. ET start time on The CW in the United States and Netflix internationally.
It will be the first PLE in WWE history to air on a television network, The CW, which is the home of NXT’s weekly two-hour Tuesday TV show. While NXT TV episodes are two hours long, the NXT Great American Bash PLE will likely run for three hours.
There are seven matches announced for NXT Great American Bash, and five of those matches are for championships. In a video posted to social media, NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced that the NXT Women’s Championship match between champion Lola Vice and challenger Kendal Grey will be the main event.
“This Sunday on the CW, we are making history with our first-ever premium live event, The Great American Bash, airing. And I just want to make this announcement right now.
We are gonna kick things off Sunday night with an NXT title match. Tony D’Angelo is gonna defend against Naraku.
The main event of the Great American Bash for the NXT Women’s Championship, Lola Vice defends against Kendal Gray. I cannot wait. I will see you Sunday where we make history, and that is set in stone.”
Kendal Grey Staying Humble Going Into WWE NXT Great American Bash Title Opportunity
The rise of Kendal Grey in NXT has been fun to watch, and even Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer recently said Grey could be the greatest women’s wrestler the United States has ever produced.
During an appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Kendal Grey reacted to the prediction while also remaining humble about her place in pro wrestling.
“It didn’t really scare me. I try not to read too much into online and what people are saying, because no matter what I do, people are going to say negative things, positive things, so I just try to be me, be authentic to myself, and not read too much into it. I don’t want to get in my head about stuff.
But at the end of the day, I do want to be the best. I wanna, that’s what I train for. I come in here every single day, get better every single day, take all the information I can, and grow my mind about this business. Ultimately, if that happens, hopefully it happens down the road authentically, but I try not to read too much into it, do what I can, work hard, and if it happens, it happens.”

NXT Great American Bash streams live on Sunday, June 28, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on the CW Network in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
There will also be an NXT Great American Bash Countdown Show on WWE’s YouTube channel with Kevin Owens set to appear.
