WWE was warned against a potential title change at Night of Champions 2026.

Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill feuded over the WWE Women’s Champion in late 2025. The Storm ended Tiffy Time’s title reign at Saturday Night’s Main Event in November.

After several months, the two women reignited their rivalry on SmackDown in the past few weeks. Stratton is now scheduled to defend her Women’s United States Championship against Cargill this Saturday at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ex-WWE Writer Thinks A Title Change Would “Damage” Tiffany Stratton

On a recent episode of his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. addressed the highly anticipated clash between Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill.

The Hollywood star admitted that it was tough to predict the outcome of the Women’s United States Championship match. However, he suggested Tiffy Time has to retain the title, claiming a loss would “damage” her.

I think that’s the only reason she retains is because it hasn’t been on her that long and it would do more damage to her for her to lose than it would for Jade to lose.

Prinze Jr. noted that WWE is struggling with the women’s division despite having “the best women in wrestling.”

They’re struggling in the women’s division, period. For a promotion that has the best women or they say the best women in wrestling, they give one storyline to htem, one, and everything else is just like, I don’t know, man. I feel like they could invest backstage segment time and promo time on the right people instead of the wrong people.

You know, they push certain wrestlers, and I don’t wanna bury anybody here, but they push certain wrestlers where I’m like, ‘Wow, this person’s still getting a lot of camera time.’ And I feel like it’s been proved where they should be at on the roster, and it shouldn’t be pushed in place of these other new talents or pushed in front of these other veteran talents. Like, whatever it is, it’s just I feel like sometimes they pick the wrong people. Sometimes, I feel like they pick the right people. [23:36 onwards]
