Backstage WWE sources revealed the Night of Champions winners

According to a recent report by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, a WWE source has told them who the creative favorites were heading into Night of Champions. Cody Rhodes is slated to retain his WWE Championship, while Trick Williams will retain the United States Championship. IYO SKY is also slated to win Queen of the Ring.

“Where we take a look at the current creative favorites heading into this weekend’s Night of Champions. Ple after speaking with the source familiar with future creative plans, we’re told that the current favorites to win their respective matches are Cody Rhodes to retain the WWE Championship, Trick Williams to retain the United States Championship, and IYO sky to be crowned Queen of the Ring.”

Joey Votes clarified that WWE could change plans at any moment. It is also reported that Tiffany Stratton is expected to retain her title. However, the source was not so sure about this result.

“Quick pause right there tc. For our aggregator friends, this is pro wrestling. They can change anything they want at any time. However, we’re also told there is a belief Tiffany Stratton will retain her championship, though that was not presented to us with the same level of certainty.”

When speaking about the Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker match, Joey Votes said that multiple finishes have been discussed internally, making the outcome unpredictable.

“As for Seth Rollins versus Bron Breakker, we’re told multiple finishes have been discussed internally, making the outcome one a source was not comfortable predicting with confidence.”

They chose to remain quiet regarding the King of the Ring finals.

“And regarding the King of the Ring finals, those plans remain quiet on our end as of today, so we’re throwing a few your way. Cody Rhodes, Trick Williams IYO Sky guy likely according to a source in creative TC, does anything strike you as surprising there?”

TC was a bit disappointed to learn that Cody Rhodes would be retaining his title since he wanted Gunther to take the top spot.

“So with that being said, I don’t think there’s very many surprises here. I am a little bit unfortunately hearing that Cody Rhodes is slated to retain the WWE Championship. I’ve been saying for weeks now I think it’s time for him to drop that title. Gunther is, I think, one of the guys that should be in prime position to be one of the top guys in all of WWE.”

Joey Votes highlighted that WWE could change creative plans at any moment.

“So, you know, things can change, but creatively, that’s where they’re leaning right now. We’ll see what goes down Sunday or Saturday.” [H/T Ringside News]

It remains to be seen who will win the King of the Ring finals this weekend.
