Cody Rhodes doesn’t plan on wrestling forever.

The American Nightmare recently appeared on the latest episode of The Ariel Helwani Show via a virtual appearance, where he talked about a bunch of topics related to wrestling and the upcoming Night of Champions premium live event.

During the conversation, Rhodes’ retirement plans were brought up, and he was asked if he’d still be wrestling in WWE a decade from now.

WWE Star Cody Rhodes Doesn’t Intend To Wrestle In His 50s

Cody Rhodes, who is turning 41 next week, replied that 10 years is too long for him to continue wrestling because his body would be too worn out to continue full-time wrestling after a decade. He added that WWE will find a new QB1 to replace him by then.

“I do think it does take a toll, at a certain point and I don’t think in 10 years I’ll still be going. I think there will be another QB1 of WWE at that point.”

“As far as in-ring competition and I don’t think that’s breaking news to anyone. Turning 41 in a week and I feel the best I’ve ever felt as an athlete, but I do think in 10 years, I will no longer be wrestling bell to bell. No.”

Cody Rhodes then said that he plans to hang up his wrestling boots in about five years. He also confirmed that if he were to sign a new contract, then he would sign for five more years, not more than that. This suggests that the next contract Cody Rhodes signs could be his last one.

“I think five years would be a, you know… Five years sounds good. Like, if I was to sign a new contract, maybe it would be for five years.”

The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to defend his title against Gunther and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match at Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
