Worrying Signs For Cody Rhodes Ahead Of WWE Night of Champions
WWE Night of Champions 2026 is just days away, and Cody Rhodes may not like what a top star had to say.
As of this writing, seven matches are advertised for the upcoming premium live event, including three for titles. The American Nightmare is set to put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Gunther and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match.
WWE United States Champion Trick Williams and Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton will look to defend their gold against Ricky Saints and Jade Cargill, respectively. Additionally, Jey Uso will battle Oba Femi in the King of the Ring final, and Liv Morgan will clash against Iyo Sky in the Queen of the Ring final.
Last, but not least, Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker are going to face each other in a Steel Cage match.
Seth Rollins believes top WWE star has a big advantage at Night of Champions
The Visionary recently appeared on Get Up on ESPN to promote his blockbuster clash against Breakker in Saudi Arabia. During the chat, Rollins was also asked who has the biggest advantage and who has the most to lose in the three-way bout for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Seth Rollins admitted that the odds are not in Cody Rhodes’ favor, as the champion does not need to be pinned or submitted to lose the title in a triple threat match. He picked Gunther as the most dangerous man in this match because he is only focused on winning the gold.
I think the (person with the) most to lose is the champion. That’s always the case. Cody Rhodes is someone who is a fighting champion, who’s not afraid to pick a fight. As a matter of fact, he asked for this match, he asked to be put in a triple threat match with both these guys who are extremely dangerous competitors.
Gunther, someone that I was in the ring with at WrestleMania, actually beat me at WrestleMania thanks to Bron Breakker. And Sami Zayn, someone who I’ve known for 20 years, is one of the best in the game
I think Cody’s got the most to lose because he’s the champion, and the odds are a little bit against him, because he does not have to be pinned or submitted to lose his title.
I think the person with the best advantage, if I’m being honestly, currently, is Gunther. He’s got the size advantage, and also, he’s not really locked into the personal issue that seems to be going on between Cody and Sami Zayn. Sami and Cody, they’ve been friends, and now they’re enemies, but not quite – there’s a lot of emotion that’s involved there.
Gunther, he’s able to isolate from that. He takes the emotion and puts it aside. He’s there to do a job, and that’s win the title, and that makes him an extremely dangerous participant in this triple threat. [H/T: WrestleTalk]
It will be interesting to see if Triple H ends Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship reign at Night of Champions.
