WWE Star Expected To Win King Of The Ring But Give Up Title Shot
A WWE star could give up his world title match after winning the King of the Ring tournament in a wild scenario.
Oba Femi qualified for the King of the Ring semi-finals after beating Penta, Solo Sikoa, and Carmelo Hayes in the first round Fatal 4-Way match. The Ruler then advanced to the final at Dominik Mysterio’s expense.
Meanwhile, Jey Uso was ordered by his Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, to win the King of the Ring tournament and challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. The former World Heavyweight Champion indeed reached the final after beating LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor in the first round and Je’Von Evans in the semi-finals.
Femi and Uso are now set to square off for the King of the Ring crown this Saturday at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Oba Femi To Win WWE King Of The Ring, Predicts Sam Roberts
While fighting for the King of the Ring crown, Oba Femi has also been occupied by his feud with Brock Lesnar. The two now have victories over each other, as many believe they may clash for a third time at SummerSlam in The Beast Incarnate’s hometown.
Several fans and experts even predicted that Lesnar may interfere at Night of Champions to cost The Ruler his match against Jey Uso. They even suggested Uso could turn on Roman Reigns and challenge him at SummerSlam.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts predicted the outcome of the King of the Ring final, proposing another wild scenario in which Oba Femi would win the crown but give it up to face Lesnar at SummerSlam.
I’m putting the crown on Oba Femi. I’m making Oba Femi King of the Ring. It’d be very interesting for Jey Uso to get that King of the Ring crown and very interesting with the idea of maybe he picks Roman Reigns. What if he picked Roman Reigns and you went to SummerSlam with Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso? It’s just not the direction that I would go in. It’s possible. It’s totally fine. You can have Brock Lesnar interfere. You can do all of that.
But for me, if I’m going to the King of the Ring final match, Oba Femi (vs.) Jey Uso, I’ve got Oba Femi beating Jey Uso, and maybe he beats him clean. And maybe Jey Uso’s got a lot of work to do after that because two nights later on RAW, I’m having Brock Lesnar come out and confront Oba Femi, and Brock Lesnar telling Oba Femi, ‘You want me? You want one more with me? I ain’t running. I’m gonna be one place and one place only, Minneapolis, SummerSlam.’
And I don’t do Oba having two matches at SummerSlam. I don’t like that theory. It’s way too much Oba. It leaves nothing to do later. It makes it so that the whole weekend is the Oba show. And I think that, like, Oba is that guy. But also it revolves everything at that point around Oba Femi. It’s too much. It’s not time for that.
So, I think that Oba gives up his title match to fight Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam and he’ll get back to that title match. Don’t worry about that. Pacing, pacing, pacing. But I think Oba gives up the title match to face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, and he main events SummerSlam against Brock Lesnar. [1:01:57 onwards]
