More than a year after he was let go by the WWE, a former Universal Champion made his in-ring return recently. The star in question is Braun Strowman.

Braun Strowman was with the WWE since 2014 and became a Universal Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and tag champ a couple of times during his tenure. He was released by the company in 2021 only to be brought back in 2022. After his contract expired last year, Braun was let go by the Stamford-based promotion.

For over a year, Braun Strowman moved away from in-ring action and gained mainstream popularity with his TV show ‘Everything on the Menu.’ Meanwhile, The Monster among Men finally performed in the ring for the first time since his WWE release.

Strowman competed at the Great Lakes Championship Wrestling (GLCW), teaming with Kal Herro to secure a win over the team of Tommy Boy, Tony Evans, and Drew Hernandez in a two on three handicap encounter. Braun had performed in the GLCW promotion back in 2021 and 2022 as well.

Former Universal Champion on a potential WWE return

While the former Universal Champion, Braun Strowman currently busy with his TV show ‘Everything on the Menu,’ on USA Network, he is also open to a potential WWE return.

In an interview last month, Braun Strowman said that he is down for a WWE return if the money is right. Braun also said that he is enjoying his TV show and needs a big number to pull him away from the table:

But that is what it is. Business is business. I’m enjoying the hell out of being the host of the number one food television show on cable television, Everything on the Menu. So like I said, to pull me away from the table, it’s going to take a hell of a number. Don’t get me wrong, this has been very fun for my belly, my bank account, my family, for everybody. And I’m loving it.”

Strowman also admitted that he misses being in the ring and in the locker room:

I miss the ring. Don’t get wrong. I miss being in the ring. I miss being in the locker room with the boys. I miss the pop. I miss the fans. I don’t miss the politics and the bull c**p that comes along with it. They can sit over there and argue and do all that stuff. I’ll be over here eating food, my friends.”

Only time will tell if The Monster among Men will return to the WWE.
