A major star has spoken to Triple H about joining WWE.

Colby Covington is a well-known name in the world of MMA. He fought in the Octagon for the UFC for several years. During this time, he won the UFC Interim Welterweight Championship one time.

Colby Covington also holds the record for most significant strikes landed in a UFC Welterweight bout with 179 strikes against Robbie Lawler. His current MMA record stands at 17 wins and 5 losses. Currently, Covington is focused on Real American Freestyle. However, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of joining WWE.

Colby Covington reveals he has had talks with Triple H

During an interview with Brian Mazique, Colby Covington revealed that he sees himself ending his competitive career with Real American Freestyle, but he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a UFC return.

“RAF is definitely somewhere I see myself ending my competitive career at. Whether I entertain other fight offers and go back to the UFC and get some big fights, those are still possibilities. You never know what the future holds and what tomorrow holds.”

He also revealed that he had some talks with Triple H and WWE, but he is still all in on RAF since he has invested his hard-earned money in it.

“I’ve had some calls with Triple H and the WWE, so that’s a potential possibility in the future as well. But I’m all in on RAF, I invested my hard-earned money that I earned fighting into RAF to get a little small equity percentage and I care about the future.”

Covington acknowledged the difficult life of a wrestler who has to be on the road for most of the year.

“Honestly I think the most difficult transition when I think about the pro wrestler schedule… They’re on the road 320, 330 days a year, they’re travelling to different countries. They got Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, they got their pay-per-views. I mean, it’s a rigorous schedule.

The former UFC Champion revealed that he is not used to such a rigorous schedule since he usually trains for a few weeks just to fight in one night.

I’m used to training for 8-10 weeks at a training camp, and then I go to one fight and I make a ton of money in one night and that’s it. I can chill for a couple months of a year, but wrestling it’s just back-to-back-to-back. So, I think it’s just understanding the travel schedule and trying to keep up with that.”

Colby isn’t worried about cutting promos since he learned that skill from Bobby Lashley. Hence, he feels he would be very comfortable with delivering promos.

“I think the mic skills, they’re similar. Being able to shoot a promo is everything. I learned that. I was on TNA Impact with my boy Bobby Lashley and he showed me what it takes to shoot promos and how to do this and that. So, I feel like I would be very comfortable with that. And then the wrestling, I’ve been wrestling my whole life. I know how to be an athlete. I know how to do in-ring wrestling. So I feel like I would pick that up very quick.” [H/T Ringside News]

It remains to be seen if Colby Covington will ever join WWE.
