WWE Officially Confirms Blockbuster Title Vs. Title Match

WWE currently has many talented stars on the main roster, and not all of them get a chance to shine on RAW or SmackDown. In such cases, their acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide has proved to be beneficial for both the promotion and the stars.

WWE’s takeover of AAA has allowed the promotion’s own stars, like El Hijo del Vikingo, La Parker, and Mr. Iguana, to reach a wider audience while also giving a platform to the WWE wrestlers who aren’t getting enough time on the main roster.

Rey Fenix wasn’t being featured on either RAW or SmackDown enough, so he made sure his time in AAA counted and won the World Cruiserweight Championship recently. He is now defending the belt on SmackDown regularly.

Damian Priest confirms a major match on WWE SmackDown

Former World Tag Team Champions, War Raiders, have done something similar as well. With the current main roster tag team division being stacked, the War Raiders began appearing in AAA in February 2026.

They eventually became the AAA World Tag Team Champions last month after defeating Pagano & Psycho Clown, and are now set for a major title match in the Stamford-based promotion.

The duo had a backstage interaction with the WWE Tag Team Champions, Damian Priest and R-Truth, and the two teams agreed to a major Title vs Title match. Priest stated that he would confirm the time and place for their match later, but this exciting match is set to take place sooner rather than later.
