Oba Femi Crashes WWE SmackDown Main Event As Night Of Champions Rivals Brawl
Former World Champion, Gunther, faced Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship last week on Friday Night SmackDown. Despite having not one, but two title matches on the show, there wasn’t a conclusive end to this feud.
Gunther had picked Sami Zayn as the Special Guest Referee for the title match, but it backfired on the Ring General. Sami and Gunther got into an altercation, and Zayn cost him the title match with a fast count.
Cody and Gunther then decided to restart the match to determine the winner, but Zayn played a role once again. He attacked Gunther midway through the match, ending it in a no-contest, before taking out the referee and Cody Rhodes.
A triple threat match between the three for the Undisputed WWE Championship was announced for Night of Champions. Rhodes and Zayn got into an altercation to kick off the main event.
WWE SmackDown main event delves into chaos
They got into a heated argument before Gunther made his way to the ring. He claimed that it would be him standing tall after their match and would still be the one with the belt after defeating the King of the Ring at SummerSlam.
Following their interaction, Jey Uso made his way to the ring and issued a warning shot to Zayn and Rhodes before claiming that he would tap Gunther out once again for the title, just like he did at WrestleMania 41.

This led to a massive brawl that saw Jey and Cody work together to take Gunther out, before Oba Femi came down to the ring. He had a staredown with Jey and Cody before Jey superkicked the WWE Champion.
All three Night of Champions opponents then took out each other before Cody Rhodes and Oba Femi were locked in a staredown, with the two men having some unfinished business from last December’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
