Major Title Match Scrapped On NXT After Brutal Backstage Attack
NXT General Manager Robert Stone had a huge night of action planned for tonight as he dealt with the aftermath of the Great American Bash Premium Live Event this past weekend.
After the success of NXT’s first-ever show, which aired live on the CW Network, Stone planned to pack a massive show for tonight, but his plans came crashing down courtesy of Keanu Carver.
The NXT powerhouse took out AAA Latin American Champion, El Hijo del Vikingo, who was set to defend his AAA Championship on the show against EK Prosper.
Massive star taken out on WWE NXT tonight
Tonight was set to be Vikingo’s official in-ring debut under the WWE banner, but those plans had to be scrapped after Carver took him out with a metal pipe backstage.
He took his knee out with the pipe, rendering him unable to compete as the champion had to be treated by medical professionals backstage, leading to Robert Stone cancelling the planned match.
Instead, a furious Stone made a new match official for the night as he booked Keanu Carver to take Vikingo’s place in the match against EK Prosper in a non-title match.
