Mercedes Moné is enjoying her time as part of the women’s roster in AEW.

She is also in no rush to return to WWE. If that was not already obvious from her multiple interviews on the public forum, Moné’s response to an Instagram user certainly clarifies her stance.

The 34-year-old is constantly asked by fans about her potential return to WWE, which she represented for more than a decade.

A fan recently asked her the same question, to which she replied that it would take a Hall of Fame induction for her to return to her previous employer.

Mercedes Moné unceremoniously left WWE in May 2022 following a creative dispute with then-company boss Vince McMahon. At the time, she was one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Naomi.

Reportedly, negotiations took place between both parties in December of that year, but nothing materialized.

After making appearances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling throughout 2023, Mone made her AEW debut in March 2024. She became the longest-serving TBS Champion in the company, holding the title for 584 days between May 2024 and December 2025.

Mercedes Moné Earns World Title Shot At AEW All In: London

Mercedes Moné had a memorable 2025, a year that saw her win multiple championships across different promotions. At one point, she held 13 titles simultaneously.

Following her TBS Championship loss in December 2025, Moné announced a hiatus. She began wrestling in independent promotions in March 2026, defending the titles she had won.

Unfortunately, she dropped all the titles, with only last year’s Owen Hart Cup tournament championship left in her possession.

She returned to AEW by competing in the first round of the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Cup tournament, replacing Willow Nightingale, who had to relinquish her spot due to an injury.

Moné made it to the final, where she faced Maya World at the recently concluded AEW Forbidden Door.

The match witnessed both women give it their all, as the winner would earn a Women’s World Championship match at All In: London on August 30.

Despite being the aggressor for most of the match, Mercedes Moné could not find a way to break her mentee, promoting her to try applying her Statement Maker submission on more than one occasion.

In the closing minutes, she hit a backstabber on Maya and applied the Statement Maker once again, only this time she applied more pressure, forcing her opponent to tap out.

Moné will challenge Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the London event next month. She last challenged for the title at the 2025 Full Gear, losing to then-champion Kris Statlander.
