BREAKING: New AEW Champion Crowned On Dynamite
A huge night was in store for AEW fans tonight as they were treated to three separate title matches on AEW Dynamite tonight. The show had a packed card, which followed this past weekend’s Forbidden Door.
The first match of the night saw MJF defend his AEW World Championship against Mark Briscoe before Kevin Knight put his TNT Championship on the line against Blackheart Lio Rush.
The final championship match on the line was scheduled to crown the new TBS Champion after Willow Nightingale was forced to relinquish the title due to a shoulder injury.
Six women competed in a Survival of the Fittest match, the winner of which was crowned the new champion. Hikaru Shida, Persephone, Queen Aminata, Harley Cameron, Maika, and Kris Statlander competed to become the new TBS Champion.
The match was off to an unfortunate start for the crowd favorite, Harley Cameron, as she tried to win her tag team partner’s belt. However, she was the first to be eliminated from the match as Persephone took her out with a massive powerbomb.

Japanese star Maika was the next to be eliminated via a quick roll-up as her countrywoman, Hikaru Shida, took her out of the match with the pin. Shida then turned her attention towards Queen Aminata who was trying to take Shida out.
However, it seems like she was too occupied with Shida, allowing Persephone to take advantage and roll Queen Aminata up for the win. This left the CMLL Women’s World Champion with Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida still in the match.
Persephone and Statlander wrestled one-on-one for a long time as Shida recovered from the match. Persephone picked Statlander up for a massive powerbomb, but she reversed it into a pinning attempt and pinned her with a roll-up to cause an upset.

The CMLL Women’s World Champion took her frustrations out on Statlander after being eliminated, as she smashed the TBS Championship on her head. Shida then locked in her submission move, but with Kris already out cold, the referee asked for the bell and declared Hikaru Shida as the winner and the new TBS Champion.
