5-Time Champion Just One Phone Call Away From WWE Return
A former champion in WWE admitted he is just a call away from returning to the Stamford-based promotion. The star in discussion is Heath Slater.
Heath Slater is known for his time in the WWE from 2009 to 2020. During his tenure, Slater became the tag team champion four times and the 24×7 Champion once as well. For years, Heath was an enhancement talent until his release from the company in 2020.
Following his WWE departure, Heath Slater had a run with TNA and has been performing on the independent wrestling scene. Meanwhile, the 42-year-old star reflected on a potential return to the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut.
Former WWE star is just one call away from a return
During his recent conversation with David Otunga, the former WWE star Heath Slater was asked about a possible return to the Stamford-based promotion. Slater said that the company has his number and email, so he’ll be there if they call:
They got my damn number, my email. All they have to do is call me and hit my damn music because I’m ready for it. I’ll go and do it. You know, why not? I only have a handful of years left, like I said before in this podcast.”
But if they ever called and said, ‘Oh, Heath, we’d like to try this.’ I would say, ‘Baby, book my ticket. Hit my music. Let’s do it.’”
Speaking about a potential 3MB reunion with Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, Heath Slater said the following:
Even if they both came and helped me win, I don’t even care. And it would be some storyline that could be cool for some people.”
Heath further explained how he is ready to be a team player for WWE:
I’ll win the title. Let me win it at this pay-per-view. And if you need me to lose it next Monday, that’s fine, too. I ain’t going to keep it, you know, like whatever. I’m a team player here. I can lose the title.”
Heath Slater concluded that he always tries to stay in shape and ready for whenever WWE asks him to return:
I tell everyone they got my email, they got my number, they want it. That’s why I’m always trying to stay ready, you know? I’m trying to stay in shape. So if it ever would happen, well, hell yeah. I can answer the call.” [H/T Ringside News]
Meanwhile, Heath Slater continues to perform on the indies.
