A WWE legend revealed family issues as the reason behind his recent absence from TV. The legend in question is none other than Booker T.

During his pro wrestling career in WCW and WWE, Booker T achieved legendary status. He is a former 5-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and has been a former World Champion in the Stamford-based promotion as well. Booker also gained prominence as a commentator.

Booker T was a color commentator for WWE for many years before taking up a regular commentary role in NXT a few years back. For a few weeks last month, Booker didn’t show up for commentary, also missing the Great American Bash PLE. Fans were missing the Hall of Famer at the desk.

WWE Hall of Famer’s family issues were reasons for his absence

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T revealed he is the youngest in his family and has the responsibility to be there for them when there are issues:

For me, let’s get the elephant out of the room. People have been asking, you know, ‘Where has Booker T been?’ And I must say, man, I ain’t going to sit here and try to sugarcoat it or anything like that. Booker T has issues just like anybody else, and I have a huge family. I’m the youngest of eight,”

When something happens in your family, family comes first. Everything stops. For me, I always said, being the youngest of the family, it’s my responsibility to make sure I step up and be there at all times.”

Booker also revealed that he has been dealing with family stuff before going back to work:

And for me, I had just been dealing with some family stuff that I had to take a step back and deal with it and then get back to work, because I cannot deal with things without working at the same time.”

Booker T also assured that his health is good and there is nothing wrong with him:

It’s one of those things where I got to keep my mind going. But, nah, that’s all it’s been, man. I feel good. There’s nothing wrong with me. I’m fine. I’m perfectly fine. My health is great… I feel good.” [h/t f4wonline.com]

After dealing with the family issues, Booker T fortunately returned to commentary on this week’s episode of NXT.
