The WWE Hall of Famer, AJ Styles opened up on a recent massive in-ring debut.

At the recent Squared Circle Action (SCA) indie wrestling event in Royston, Georgia, AJ Styles’ son, Avery Jones made his professional wrestling debut. Avery squared off against Ashton Martin in a singles match, in which he also used his father’s signature moves, Phenomenal forearm and Styles clash.

Interestingly, AJ Styles was at his son, Avery Jones’ corner throughout the match. Meanwhile, The Phenomenal One shed light on his son’s professional wrestling in-ring debut at the SCA event.

Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro Podcast recently, AJ Styles reacted to his son, Avery Jones’ pro wrestling debut. AJ also praised Avery’s opponent, Ashton Martin, saying he has never been so impressed with two young guys, for not rushing anything in their match and using their energy:

I don’t think they disappointed anyone whatsoever. Ashton Martin, Avery Styles, it was the main event. Listen, dude, I’ve never been so impressed with two young guys. I mean, they’re young. I think Ashton’s maybe a year, a year and a half in. And then of course, this is Avery’s debut match.”

And there’s a lot of things that we do with all this energy when we have that young energy that is — we use it in the wrong way. They used it really, really well. They didn’t rush through anything. They took their time on things they should have.”

AJ Styles further stated that he was blown away by the match between Avery Jones and Ashton Martin while also recalling his own debut match:

And listen, it’s not going to be perfect, but this is a debut match for Avery, and Ashton hadn’t had that many matches. So to see them do so well in a main event, both of them, I was blown away. If you would have seen my first match — terrible. Terrible.

But these guys did really, really well. I am so impressed with everything they’ve done, their training. To see them put together that match and execute it so well — blown away.”

The Phenomenal One also admitted that his son, Avery Jones did his signature moves better than him considering it’s his debut:

Better than me, as far as his debut. I’m not just saying that.” [H/T f4wonline.com]

Only time will tell if Avery Jones will be seen in the WWE in the future following his debut.
