Maxxine Dupri’s WWE push was reportedly canceled for a major reason.

In late 2025, Maxxine Dupri received a significant push on Monday Night RAW, entering a feud with Becky Lynch over the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

The 29-year-old eventually captured her first WWE title by beating The Man on the November 17 episode of the red brand. However, her reign lasted just 49 days as Lynch regained the title following a betrayal from Dupri’s former partner and mentor, Natalya.

Although Dupri later started a feud with Nattie, the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion failed to pick up a single victory against her former mentor. Their first match ended in a double count-out after Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter on top of the announce table. Dupri was then knocked out in the second encounter before being forced to submit in the third and final match.

Over the past few weeks, Dupri was spotted with The Vision’s Austin Theory, seemingly teasing an on-screen romance. She also hinted at a heel turn by refusing Chad Gable’s apology. Meanwhile, she suffered a crushing defeat against The Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez on RAW last night.

Theory also appared to tease a breakup with Dupri after she apologized to Gable for how she handled the situation the previous week.

The Fans’ Reaction Forced WWE To Halt Maxxine Dupri’s Push

While discussing Dupri’s match against Rodriguez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez claimed the bout had “absolutely no heat.” Dave Meltzer then explained why WWE hit the brakes on Dupri’s push.

Meltzer claimed the company believed Dupri had the potential to become a big star because of her look. However, the fans never reacted to her the way the company expected, which ultimately hurt her career.

That’s why we haven’t seen Maxxine as a wrestler. They thought she was a big star because of her looks, and they were giving her the big push, but when she went out, the people didn’t react. But if you’re in the middle or low, and they don’t react to you, man, it’s f***** for you. That’s what basically hurt her career — the people didn’t react to her matches. [H/T: RingsideNews]
