The WWE Premium Live Events, being commercial-heavy, have frustrated many viewers.

Whenever WWE puts on a PLE like Night of Champions this past Saturday, there is plenty of action in the ring, but many fans also complain about the number of commercials.

For viewers on ESPN Unlimited in the US, there are usually three or four minutes of commercials between every match. In the past, on a traditional WWE PLE (or Pay-Per-View as they were known), there were no commercials, or if there were, then they were rare.

In this era, it’s different because ESPN is paying WWE billions of dollars over the length of their 5-year deal to show PLEs, so ESPN sells ads to make some money instead of simply relying on subscribers to its streaming service.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, host Bryan Alvarez went on a rant complaining about all the ads that air during a PLE like Night of Champions.

“ESPN spent way too much money on WWE. Now they have to try to figure out how to make this money back. And so that means incessant f**king commercials on these shows. And so we have like, a horrible finish, a dead crowd, and a horrible match in front of a dead crowd – three straight. And I’m like, let’s just get this f**king show on the road – let’s get it over with. But of course they can’t.

And so, I sat through commercial after commercial after commercial and there’s one match left, so it’s like, can we just get to it? No. Commercial, commercial, commercial. and then after all that I’m like okay, commercials are done, can we watch this f**king match now? No. They’re like, ‘Hey everybody, let’s take a look at how the Arabic announcers are calling this show.’ I said What?

They start showing replays in Arabic. I was like, ‘What? F**k. I can’t take it.’ I left. I walked out of this house. I left. I couldn’t f**king take it any more. That’s where we’re at now. We haven’t wasted enough time…now let’s see how the announcers are calling the show in Arabic. You know how they are calling the show in Arabic? They are calling it in Arabic. If I wanted to watch it, I could have f**king switched the language. What the f**k? Thank God they didn’t have like nine announce teams.”

Commercials Continue To Annoy WWE Fans

As Alvarez continued ranting, he claimed that he left the house, went for a walk, and still didn’t miss any of the action because of how many commercials there were.

“And then I swear to God, I left. I walked up the f**king hill, I walked that way, I walked an entire f**king neighborhood, I walked back, I walked down the f**king hill, I get in…we still haven’t gotten through the ring entrances for the main event.”

To sum up his frustrations, Alvarez ended it with a message for WWE.

“You know, I can say this because LA Knight basically said it to The Usos. WWE, with all due respect, F**k you! God dammit! Jesus Christ, this f**king show!”

The reality is that commercials/ads are part of doing business in the world we live in, but they can still lead to frustrations, as evidenced above.
