Sami Zayn Shares Unique Video With WWE Championship
Sami Zayn is celebrating with the WWE Championship in a special way.
It finally happened. After spending a decade on the WWE main roster, Sami Zayn finally became the Undisputed WWE Champion for the first time at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this past Saturday.
Even though many people questioned Zayn even being in the WWE Title match, Zayn was added to the story between former 3-time WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his rival, Gunther.
That led to the triple threat match at Night of Champions, which saw all three men come close to winning multiple times.
In the final moments, Cody was back in the ring with a Super Cody Cutter on Gunther. Cody was going for a Cross Rhodes, but Zayn countered with his own Cross Rhodes on Cody. Zayn charged, and Gunther got a hold of Zayn with a Sleeper. Zayn countered it with his own Sleeper. Cody hit a Cross Rhodes on Zayn, and Gunther bumped too, so it was like Cody hit a Cross Rhodes on both guys at the same time. Cody went for another one, but Zayn rolled through, Zayn sat on top, and Zayn held Cody’s legs for the 1…2…and 3! Michael Cole screamed on commentary: “Miracle! Miracle! Miracle!”
Two days later, WWE is in Atlantic City for Monday Night Raw starting at 6 p.m. ET, and then they are taping SmackDown right after because they want to give talent off since Friday is July 3rd, and July 4th is obviously a big holiday in the US.
To celebrate his newly won WWE Championship, Sami Zayn posted a video on social media where he was driving a convertible with the top down and the Undisputed WWE Championship was right there with him in the passenger seat.

If you’re wondering about the song that Zayn is listening to, that’s “Cruisin'” by the legendary Smokey Robinson. A catchy tune, as the WWE Champ can attest.
“I Will Be Sami Zayn, WWE Champion”
While there is all kinds of speculation that Sami Zayn may have a short reign as WWE Champion and that he could be a “transitional champion” who loses it perhaps even before SummerSlam, it doesn’t seem like Zayn cares that much if it’s a short reign.
Speaking after his title win, Byron Saxton asked Zayn how he felt, and the champ was in a great mood after becoming WWE Champion for the first time.
“I don’t really know how to answer that Byron. A lot has been said about me. Some good and lately some bad. A lot of folks said I would never win the WWE Championship. I stand here tonight in front of my people, [In Arabic: here in Riyadh, in front of the Arab people, the muslim people, the world champion.] The WWE Champion. It’s hard to believe, oh my God!
Byron, you know, I’m not usually at a loss of words but… [Reacts to ‘You deserve it chants] You know what? You’re damn right I deserve it. Twenty plus years in the game at the highest level, never got the recognition. Ten plus years chasing this championship, never got the recognition. I don’t care what happens to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. Forever, I will be Sami Zayn WWE Champion.”
