Sami Zayn did not hold back after winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions.

The Last Real Good Guy has been involved in a storyline with Gunther and Cody Rhodes over the past several weeks on SmackDown. Tonight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Zayn squared off with The Ring General and The American Nightmare in a Triple Threat match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The match went back and forth between the three competitors, with each being close to victory at one point. However, Zayn was the one who shocked the world and captured his first-ever world title, pinning Rhodes.

While celebrating his astonishing victory, Zayn spoke to the camera, sending a fiery message to his doubters.

Ten years in WWE, I’ve been challenging for this championship. They said I would never do it. They said I’ll never win it. Well, here it is. Ride or die.

“I will be Sami Zayn WWE Champion”

After the show went off the air, Sami Zayn addressed his historic win in an interview with Byron Saxton. The Last Real Good Guy again brought up the doubters, stating that he deserved the recognition after twenty plus years competing at the highest level.

Zayn also sent a message to the Riyadh crowd in Arabic.

I don’t really know how to answer that Byron. A lot have been said about me. Some good and lately some bad. A lot of folks said I would never win the WWE Championship. I stand here tonight in front of my people, [In Arabic: here in Riyadh, in front of the Arab people, the muslim people, the world champion.] The WWE Champion. It’s hard to believe, oh my God!

Byron, you know, I’m not usually at a loss of words but… [Reacts to ‘You deserve it chants] You know what? You’re damn right I deserve it. Twenty plus years in the game at the highest level, never got the recognition. Ten plus years chasing this championship, never got the recognition. I don’t care what happens to me tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. Forever, I will be Sami Zayn WWE Champion.
