A WWE star has finally gotten her clearance to compete in the ring.

Adriana Rizzo signed with the WWE in 2022 after a successful run on the UNC Track and Field Team, where she was a five-time NCAA All-American. She made her in-ring debut at an NXT live event in October 2022.

However, she suffered a major setback early on in her career when she sustained an Achilles tendon rupture, which sidelined her for a year. When she returned from her injury, WWE paired her up with Tony D’Angelo, and she became the only female member of the D’Angelo Family. As a result, she got herself a regular spot on WWE TV.  When the D’Angelo Family disbanded, she was taken off TV. She then revealed that she tore her anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus. Since then, she has not been seen on NXT TV. However, the wait for her return might finally be over.

WWE star Adriana Rizzo announced that she is cleared to compete again

WWE star Adriana Rizzo recently took to social media to reveal that she is back again. She also said that she feels like her old self.

“Guess who’s back… back AGAIN! Three years ago, I tore my left Achilles. A few months after I partially tore my left ACL. Then, in 2025, I tore that same ACL completely, tore my meniscus, and sprained my MCL—all in my left leg. Setback after setback left me feeling like I would never be the same. Today, I can finally say I feel like my old self.”

The WWE star also thanked her surgeon, doctors, and family for her recovery. She also sent a special thank you message to fellow NXT star Cutler James.

“Thank you to my surgeon, doctors, athletic trainers @dr.clayton.tomczyk weightroom coaches @jp_major @sarahsab @loganbyman and everyone else who helped me through this journey. You gave me the opportunity to be an athlete again. To my family—thank you for supporting me along the way.

And to Jonah… thank you for carrying me through the hardest season of my life. Thank you for every appointment, every encouraging conversation, every moment you reminded me who I was when I had a hard time seeing it myself. I couldn’t have done this without you @cutler_wwe ♡”

The NXT star continued to say that this is the beginning of what’s next for her.

“To everyone who supported me, checked in on me, prayed for me, or believed in me from afar—thank you. It meant more than you’ll ever know. This isn’t the end of my comeback. It’s the beginning of what’s next.”
