Tony Khan Addresses Huge WWE Move: “I Did See That Announcement”
Tony Khan’s AEW is slated to return to London again. One of AEW’s biggest PPVs of the year, All In, will take place in the capital of England on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
As AEW is preparing for its grand event, WWE has made a major move by announcing that an AAA show and NXT Heatwave will happen on the same date as All In. The WWE/AAA shows will run back-to-back on Sunday.
AEW President Tony Khan Takes Huge WWE Move As A Compliment
On the AEW Forbidden Door media scrum, Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer asked Tony Khan if he saw WWE’s announcement regarding running NXT and AAA shows on the same day as AEW All In on August 30, and whether he takes it as a compliment.
Khan replied that he did see the announcement. He added that he does consider it a compliment.
“I did see that. I did see that. I saw that one, yeah…It’s good. It’s double the compliment Jimmy Crockett got. That’s good, twice as nice as they were to Jimmy. That’s great. I’ll be sure to take it that way. I think we’re going to have a great AEW All In and really looking forward to going back to Wembley Stadium. It’s going to be the biggest night in AEW wrestling.”
“I can’t speak to what the other promotions are doing, but I did see that announcement. I saw that with our own show going on tonight, so not a lot I can do other than just hope we have a really good show and plan and prepare that we will have a very good show for AEW All In.”
The AEW All In will take place at Webley Stadium in London, England, while the NXT and AAA events will take place at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.
This past Sunday, on June 28, NXT The Great American Bash and AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door also ran head-to-head.
