Zaria Survives Grueling Title Test At NXT Great American Bash
NXT Great American Bash 2026 kicked off with an entertaining clash between Tony D’Angelo and Naraku for the Men’s NXT Championship. The match saw an injured D’Angelo take on the Evil Japanese star.
D’Angelo wrestled with his right eye covered in bandages, but still managed to hand Naraku his first loss in WWE. Their title match was followed by another title bout, the second of five scheduled for the night.
Recently crowned NXT Women’s North American Champion, Zaria, put her title on the line against the woman she defeated to win the belt, Tatum Paxley. The two women gave it their all to leave the Performance Center as the champion.

Zaria dominated for much of the early stages of the match and was ragdolling Paxley around. The former champion got a bit of offense in as she trapped Zaria in the ring apron, but couldn’t sustain the attack.
Zaria got back quickly, using the surroundings to regain control once again. Soon enough, the brawl then continued back to the inside of the ring, where Tatum came back into the match.
She kicked out of a Spear from Zaria before turning things around and hitting a Sunsent Flip Powerbomb from the ring apron and onto the ground. She attacked Zaria on the floor before heading in and hitting the Cemetery Drive, but the champion kicked out a two.

It was then the champion’s turn to get the offense as she hit Paxley with a Spear and an F5, but she kicked out at two. Zaria became incredibly furious after Paxley kicked out and began stomping on her head to knock her out.
She then picked up a knocked-out Paxley and hit another F5 and pinned her to retain the NXT Women’s North American Title. Paxley sat in disbelief after the match, and it seems that she has to head back to the drawing board following this defeat.
