A WWE legend explained how the stakes aren’t raised for the third match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi at SummerSlam. The legend in question is Booker T.

Oba Femi has been on a warpath with Brock Lesnar for the past few months now. In their first showdown at WrestleMania 42, Oba defeated Lesnar within minutes, and Brock also teased his retirement by leaving his boots in the ring. However, it turned out to be a ruse, as The Beast Incarnate returned weeks later and brutally attacked Oba.

The rematch between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar took place at Clash in Italy, where Brock got the win over The Ruler. Oba later moved on and went on to win the King of the Ring tournament to win a world title opportunity, but he was still calling out The Beast Incarnate. Last Monday on RAW, Lesnar returned to confront Femi.

Oba Femi challenged Brock Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam as he postponed his world title opportunity, and Brock raised the stakes by announcing that it would be a Hell in a Cell match.

WWE legend on how Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar trilogy would’ve been better

During his Hall of Fame podcast, the WWE legend Booker T claimed that the trilogy match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi would be better if Oba had the world championship and Brock was challenging him:

I think the trilogy would be better if Oba had the championship and Brock was challenging. If he’s the champion, he’s a champion, but that doesn’t make him the favorite. People are still going to be wondering if Brock Lesnar is going to win the championship one more time. I think that’s the build-up for me, if I’m booking it.”

Booker T also compared his King of the Ring win in 2006 to Oba Femi’s win this year, explaining the expectations:

The winner of the King of the Ring gets a title shot, and the reason that is, is because of me. I’m the only one to ever win the King of the Ring to go on and literally just take the championship by force.”

People are going to judge him from this run. How good of a king was Oba Femi at the end of the day? From king to king, I’d say go out and rule, but rule with that iron fist, and you won’t have to worry about a thing.” [h/t wrestlingnews.co]

It remains to be seen who walks out of the Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam 2026 as the winner.
