WWE Legend Launches Shocking Accusations Against Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is back in discussions after a WWE legend leveled serious accusations against him.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, enjoyed six world championship reigns in the Stamford promotion, one of which began at WrestleMania 9.
At WWE WrestleMania 9, then-champion Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart lost the title to Yokozuna after Mr. Fuji interfered in the match.
This prompted Hogan to walk out and inform the referee what had happened. Mr. Fuji then issued a challenge to Hogan, which he accepted after Bret Hart convinced him.
Mr. Fuji again tried to interfere, which backfired this time around, costing Yokozuna the title to The Hulkster inside 30 seconds.
Putting the title on the WWE Hall of Famer was heavily disputed at the time. Hogan went on to drop the title to the Samoan wrestler at King of the Ring a couple of months later.
It is public knowledge in the wrestling world that the WrestleMania 9 title change caused a fallout between Hart and Hogan.
‘The Hitman’ recently spoke about how the entire situation made him feel uncomfortable. The WWE Hall of Famer also accused Hogan of never following up on his rematch promise.
Bret Hart Accuses Hulk Hogan Of Altering His WWE Career
Bret Hart has always been outspoken about the goings-on of the wrestling business. On more than one occasion, he has accused one wrestler or another of wrongdoing, which even resulted in him quitting WWE and signing with rival promotion WCW in 1997.
While speaking on Inside the Ropes, the Canadian great recalled events of WrestleMania 9, where Hulk Hogan swooped in to beat Yokozuna and become the new world champion.
Hart claimed to believe that the storyline would ultimately set him up against The Hulkster at SummerSlam.
I remember figuring it out in my head. It’s like I’m probably going to wrestle Hulk Hogan at SummerSlam.
The fans are going to make Vince put Hogan against me cuz it’s the one everyone wants to watch.
The 69-year-old even said that he received a phone call before King of the Ring, with Vince McMahon laying out the plans for Hart’s match against Hogan at SummerSlam, where he would make the champion submit to the Sharpshooter.
Vince tells me within about 2 minutes that he’s going to have me wrestle Hogan at SummerSlam and I’m going to put him in the Sharpshooter and he’s going to tap out right in the middle of the ring.
I remember looking at my wife and going this is like a big call.
Hart further stated that McMahon was yet to discuss it with Hogan, and then revealed that the following day, things took a turn for the worse.
Vince calls me the next day and says you’re never going to believe what Hogan said.
Bret said that Hogan had refused to work with him, claiming that he was not on his level. He even said that Hogan had assured him a WWE title match following his victory at WrestleMania 9.
Hogan said word for word is that I was never in his league and that he wouldn’t drop the belt to me under any circumstances and that he wouldn’t even work with me period and refused to work with me.
The first thing Hogan said to me in the dressing room was, ‘Uh, just want you to know I’m happy to return the favor.’
I looked at him and said I’m going to remember that Terry. I’m going to remember that.
Bret Hart claimed that Hogan’s decision to not wrestle him cost him a major payday because at the time, the champion was the highest-paid wrestler in the company.
Hogan refused to work with me, refused to put me over, refused to do anything with me and basically changed my destiny.
The world champion at that time was the highest paid guy in the company. He got the biggest check every week, whoever the champion was.
