Did WWE Star Suddenly Take A Shot At Edge On RAW? Truth Revealed

A former WWE NXT Champion opened up on allegedly taking a shot at Edge (aka Adam Copeland) on RAW recently. The star in question is Ricky Saints.

Ricky Saints gained prominence during his time in All Elite Wrestling from 2020 to 2024 as ‘Ricky Starks.’ Following his AEW departure, the 36-year-old star joined the WWE last year. During his time in Tony Khan’s promotion, Sainst had a heated segment with Adam Copeland (fka Edge) on an episode of Collision a few years back, which was allegedly off the script.

This past Monday on RAW, Ricky Saints allegedly took a shot at the current AEW star, Adam Copeland, by mentioning ‘Edge’ during an interview with Byron Saxton:

An edge? Don’t talk to me about an edge,” said Ricky.

While speaking with Complex Graps recently, Ricky Saints was asked about his “Edge” line on RAW. Saints revealed that he didn’t realize or think of that before saying it:

You know what’s so funny? I didn’t realize that at the time that it was — no one will believe me so what’s the point in even trying to defend myself but, I just thought that was funny that I was like, wow, I didn’t even think of that. That is crazy…” [H/T Fightful]

Scrapped plans for Edge’s last WWE match

Before leaving the WWE in 2023, Edge wrestled his last match against Sheamus before joining AEW as ‘Adam Copeland.

In a recent interview, Sheamus revealed that Adam Copeland’s last WWE match was supposed to be against Damian Priest before plans changed:

I loved it. It actually wasn’t going to happen. We pitched it and it didn’t look like it was going to come to fruition because there were a couple of other things going on. I guess, his final match was supposed to be against maybe Damian Priest. That’s what I heard. I don’t know for sure. That all changed and it ended up being me and him.”

Sheamus also recalled that he didn’t realize that he was wrestling Edge in his last WWE match:

At the time, we didn’t even realize it was going to be his last match. He was trying to figure out what he wanted to do. It was a match we never had. It was great, so easy, and so much fun. It was in Toronto, the crowd was insane. Beth Phoenix and his daughters were there. It was awesome.”

Meanwhile, Adam Copeland is the current AEW World Tag Team Champion alongside Christian Cage.
