WWE Title Changes Hand On NXT

A big night of action on NXT saw one WWE star walk away with a title as gang warfare on the brand came to a head.

The issues between Tony D’Angelo’s Family and the No Quarter Catch Crew caught fire when the NQCC seemingly asked The Family to get rid of Drew Gulak. Drew Gulak was written off TV after Ronda Rousey made an allegation of inappropriate behaviour against him. Gulak has not had his contract renewed by WWE meaning that he is on his way out of the company imminently.

However, Charlie Dempsey and crew should have known that getting involved with The Family could only bring trouble.

On the 7th of May edition of WWE NXT, The Family screwed Dempsey and Myles Borne out of a tag team win after making Stacks Lorenzo the referee for that bout. D’Angelo’s crew later sped off with Borne and Damon Kemp in the back of their car after attacking the pair.

As a result, NXT General Manager Ava fined Tony D’Angelo $20,000 but allowed him to keep his NXT Heritage Cup match against Charlie Dempsey.

The match went five rounds and saw Damon Kemp and Myles Borne emerge to attack The Family as the bout neared its conclusion. In the end, it was The Don of NXT that captured the win and the Heritage Cup.

This is Tony D’Angelo’s third title reign as a WWE star as he previously held the NXT Tag Team Championship on two occasions with Stacks Lorenzo.
