Major Champion May Vacate Title After WWE SummerSlam 2026

A top WWE champion may vacate their title after SummerSlam Sunday for a major reason.

Tiffany Stratton captured the Women’s United States Championship last April after beating Guilia on SmackDown. She is now closing in on 100 days as champion.

Meanwhile, Tiffy Time now has the opportunity to become the Interim WWE Women’s Champion when she wrestles Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green, and the winner of Lash Legend vs. Guilia in a Ladder match at SummerSlam in her home state of Minnesota.

The 27-year-old booked her spot in the Ladder Match by defeating Fatal Influence’s leader, Jacy Jayne, on the July 17 episode of the blue brand.

Tiffany Stratton May Vacate The Women’s United States Title After WWE SummerSlam, Says Analyst

During a recent episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts was asked to give his take on Tiffany Stratton’s inclusion in the SummerSlam Ladder Match despite being the Women’s United States Champion.

The 42-year-old claimed no United States Champion would ever turn down an opportunity to win a world title. He suggested that Stratton may end up winning the Interim WWE Women’s Championship in her home state of Minnesota and then vacate the Women’s United States Title.

Why did she beat Jacy Jayne? Well, I think because if Jacy Jayne, I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know how the match is gonna go, you know? Tiffany Stratton’s from Minnesota. Maybe she ends up winning the Women’s Championship and then they vacate the U.S. Championship. I don’t know how that goes. Or maybe they just want her on the show. Maybe they just want her in the match and somebody else is gonna win the latter match. But the reality is that there’s no reason that that character wouldn’t want that match. (1:02:45 onwards)
