WWE’s Roman Reigns Hosts Party For Children In Hospital (PHOTOS)
Roman Reigns is using his time away from WWE to give back to the company and spending time with kids at a local hospital.
The “Original Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns made his return to WWE at SummerSlam earlier in August. It was Roman’s first WWE appearance in four months since losing the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 this past April.
At SummerSlam, Reigns was cheered heavily as he destroyed his cousin Solo Sikoa with a Superman Punch and a Spear, which led to Rhodes hitting a Cross Rhodes to retain the WWE Championship.
On the August 9th edition of WWE Smackdown, Reigns got the upper hand over Solo and his version of The Bloodline again. One week later on the August 16th WWE Smackdown, Reigns was decimated by The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa. That foursome put Reigns through the commentary table and he hasn’t been on WWE television since then.
When he’s not in WWE, Reigns is a busy man raising a family with his wife since they have a daughter and four sons (two sets of twin boys).
Roman Reigns also recently visited the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida where he spent time with some kids who enjoyed his company. Check out what was posted on Instagram as well as some of the great photos of Reigns smiling with the kids.
@wwe Tribal Chief @romanreigns and Two-Time World Series Champion and @mlb All-Star, Jeff Conine stopped by to host a pizza party for our patients and families. We are grateful for our hometown champions for taking time out of their day to add a little sunshine and put smiles on the faces of the kids at Joe D. #MimisRavioli #JDCHFoundation #FeelGoodFriday
It was noted by “Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp” that Roman Reigns “goes there ALL THE TIME, including right after his own father passed. What a guy.”
Roman Reigns Addressed His Health Status Earlier This Year
When WWE fans watch Roman Reigns perform on television, he looks like a dominant force and will continue to be for many years to come. However, Reigns has also had a battle with leukemia for his entire adult life.
During WrestleMania 40 weekend in Philadelphia, Roman Reigns said he’s still on oral chemotherapy for leukemia and will likely have to remain on it for his entire life.
“I’m still on oral chemotherapy, it’s a medication that I’m going to have to remain on my entire life most likely. It’s just a part of my personal battle. It doesn’t affect me, thank God, I’m still able to perform. I think anybody in my position would say health is wealth. As long as I continue to perform, you already know that’s at bay. We’re good. We’re still in remission. It is something that is still part of my life.”
As for when Roman Reigns returns to WWE television, he was advertised for the September 13th edition of Smackdown, but WWE has since removed him from the listing. Perhaps they will bring him back that day as a surprise and don’t want to advertise it ahead of time.
Keep watching WWE television to see when the “Original Tribal Chief” may appear again.
