AEW Legend Tries To Explain Bizarre Segment On Redemption PPV – “Slight Misunderstanding!”
A legendary pro wrestler was part of a strange segment at AEW Redemption and has tried to explain what happened.
The first-ever AEW Redemption PPV took place in Montreal on July 26th, and it featured Kenny Omega beating Kevin Knight to retain the AEW World Title in the main event.
There were also two title changes at Redemption, both of which involved the women’s division. Willow Nightingale beat Thekla to become the AEW Women’s World Champion for the first time. Nightingale made history as the first Women’s Triple Crown winner in AEW history since she’s also won the TBS Title and Women’s Tag Team Titles in her career.
Also, Maya World beat Hikaru Shida to become the TBS Champion, which is the first championship that World has won in the company.
During a backstage segment at Redemption, WWE Hall of Famer and AEW newcomer Mick Foley was supposed to interview Divine Dominion’s Megan Bayne & Lena Kross. They asked Mick if he’s seen two women more dominant and violent than them. Foley had a tough time answering it. Bayne asked why there aren’t two women for them to face. Foley suggested The Brawling Birds duo of Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor. Kross wondered if they stood a chance. Bayne told Mick to bow down, so the legendary Foley bizarrely started barking and acting like a dog.
On Instagram, Foley explained the Redemption segment as a slight misunderstanding.

It appears to be a classic case of Mick Foley comedy. Whether it worked or not depends on how you feel about comedy on AEW shows.
Mick Foley May Wrestle In AEW
At 61 years old, Mick Foley is well past his prime as a pro wrestler, but the Hardcore Legend has admitted that he has thought about wrestling in AEW.
“It’s definitely crossed my mind. The cinematic matches have opened up the door for guys whose cardio might be suspect. This loss of 100 pounds made my life so much easier. I used to have to stop a couple of times walking up a moderate hill.”
Now, I’m realizing that I’m not really getting winded like I used to. I don’t know. Clearly, if I had a match, it would be a match that would have to avoid trauma to the head. Luckily, there is a whole lot of me to traumatize below the neck. I think I have one more last good match in me.”
Whether it happens remains to be seen, but at least Foley is thinking about it.
