Top AEW Star Creates History At Redemption 2026, Issues Statement

A beloved AEW star created history at the Redemption 2026 pay-per-view and broke the silence on the same. The star in discussion is Willow Nightingale.

Willow Nightingale has been with AEW since 2021 and has risen to be one of the most beloved babyfaces in the company. Her first title win took place in 2024, when she won the TBS Championship. In December last year, Willow also became the first-ever All Elite Wrestling Women’s World Tag Team Champion alongside Harley Cameron.

A few weeks later, Willow Nightingale also ended Mercedes Moné’s historic 580+ days reign to become TBS Champion the second time. However, Willow had to relinquish her title due to injury in May. She made her return earlier this month and challenged Thekla for the AEW Women’s World title at Redemption 2026.

At the pay-per-view, Willow Nightingale ended up defeating Thekla to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship. She also created history by becoming the first-ever triple crown champion in AEW, as she has held the Women’s World, Women’s Tag Team, and TBS title during her tenure.

Following her AEW Women’s World title win at Redemption 2026, Willow Nightingale showed up on the post-show media scrum, where she talked about holding all three women’s titles in All Elite Wrestling:

I mean, fascinating thing about this too is that has all been accomplished within this year. I won the TBS Title two years ago for the first time, but, I held the Tag and TBS earlier this year. Now this, the World Title, it’s really a whirlwind. I love AEW because, now, it feels like we’ve got our legs, we’re more established. But it still feels so exciting and new and this is the beginning of something so much more. “

Willow further added as follows:

In my head, I’m like, this is gonna go on and on and this is still, like, we’re just getting started, and to be somebody who is kind of helping lay down that foundation, and hitting these marks and achievements at such a crazy, awesome time, along with people… on the men’s side, Kenny (Omega) and Hangman (Adam Page)? That is crazy company to be in. So I’m beside myself… Surreal… in the best way possible.” [H/T Fightful]

After winning the AEW Women’s World title, Willow Nightingale is slated to defend it against the 2026 Owen Hart Women’s tournament winner, Mercedes Moné, at All In 2026 next month.
