AJ Styles Reveals New WWE Role

The WWE Hall of Famer, AJ Styles revealed his brand new role after in-ring retirement.

Following his last match against Gunther at the Royal Rumble PLE earlier this year, AJ Styles announced his retirement from in-ring competition. He was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for his great contributions. Despite his in-ring retirement, The Phenomenal One is still with the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut in non-wrestling roles.

AJ Styles recently disclosed that he was the backstage producer for the main event of NXT last week. Meanwhile, Styles opened up on his new role in the WWE months after in-ring retirement.

Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro Podcast recently, AJ Styles revealed that he is back in the WWE Performance Center, where he would be taking over as a coach:

I went back down to the Performance Center. We did some more tapings, and I’m gonna be taking over for one of the coaches. So that’s what I was doing, and man, I had a great week.”

The Phenomenal One also opened up on how he enjoys working behind the scenes:

I really enjoy [working behind the scenes]. Trying to inspire some of the younger talent and seeing them do well. Being able to produce a match and going, ‘Oh my gosh, dude, you guys killed it.’ I love that opportunity to be able to say I was involved in that to a certain degree. Obviously, it’s not me in there doing it, but just giving ideas and whatnot. It’s fun.”

AJ Styles concluded by talking about his experience in the WWE Performance Center:

Being at the PC and seeing these guys work hard, and they’re willing to work hard for you as I take over a class. Seeing them respect me enough to really work hard, to not go slack off because AJ’s here and not because our original coach isn’t, is a big deal to me.”

Well, The Phenomenal One continues to share his experience with the younger generation, and it will be interesting to see if he will be in an onscreen role in the future as well.
