WWE Raw Preview – February 27th

A preview of what’s coming up this week on WWE Monday Night Raw including a big Women’s Tag Team Title match.

With Wrestling 39 coming in less than five weeks on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd in Los Angeles, WWE is gearing up with a big night of Monday Night Raw at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan tonight. Here’s what WWE is advertising for Raw at this point.

Becky Lynch and Lita vie for WWE Women’s Tag Team Gold!

During last week’s edition of Raw, Bayley was hosting her Damage CTRL buddies Dakota Kai & IYO SKY on her “Ding Dong Hello” talk show when there was an interruption. It was Becky Lynch & Lita, who questioned the greatness of Kai & SKY as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and issued a challenge for this week’s Raw. The match was accepted, so that could be the main event of this week’s show.

There have been reports that Trish Stratus is expected to return to WWE with plans in place for him last week, but WWE decided to push it back. That could lead to Trish’s return tonight to try to prevent Bayley from interfering in the match unless there is some other reason Trish is back.

If you follow Trish and Lita on Instagram then you know that Lita spent the last week with Trish’s family in Toronto before flying out to Raw in Grand Rapids. Perhaps Trish went with her as well.

Another name that could appear on Raw for this match is Ronda Rousey, who is advertised for Raw despite being a Smackdown wrestler.

Will Brock Lesnar return to Raw next week and accept Omos’ WrestleMania challenge?

There have been a lot of rumors about who Lesnar might face at WrestleMania 39 with names like GUNTHER and Bobby Lashley mentioned at different times. However, it appears that this is the direction that WWE is going in with Lesnar attempting to hit an F5 on the 400-pounder Omos.

Asuka looks to prove Carmella is not ready for her

Asuka’s path to WrestleMania 39 is known since she won the Women’s Elimination Chamber match over a week ago to earn a Raw Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair. The runner-up in that Elimination Chamber match was Carmella, who gets her shot against Asuka tonight in a singles match. Carmella mentioned on Twitter that Asuka has never beaten her in a singles match before.

Considering how impressive Asuka has been since returning to WWE TV earlier this year, this might be her time to beat Carmella in a singles match.

“Miz TV” goes Hollywood with WrestleMania edition

It was last week on Raw when The Miz’s wife was on the show with him to celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary. Maryse also handed The Miz an envelope with something that The Miz didn’t reveal to the cameras. Instead, The Miz will reveal the contents of the envelope this week on Raw.

What was in the envelope isn’t known, but there has been speculation that The Miz could be announced as the host of WrestleMania 39 since he lives in Hollywood and has the character that fits WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.

Candice LeRae battles Piper Niven

There is a third women’s match advertised for Raw with Candice LeRae facing Piper Niven in singles action. Last week on Raw, Niven defeated “Michin” Mia Yim and now wants to beat Candice LeRae, who has had to deal with Nikki Cross stalking her a bit.

Some of the other stars that could be featured on Raw this week include Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes, Women’s Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley, Kevin Owens, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and many more of Raw’s stars.

As for next week’s Raw on March 6th in Boston, WWE legend John Cena is coming back to likely set up his WrestleMania 39 match against Austin Theory. Cena tweeted about it to try to sell more tickets to the show.

As we have covered recently, Cena’s appearance on Raw has boosted ticket sales for the show in Boston with fans wanting to see their hometown legend in person.
