Sheamus recently departed WWE.

Sheamus was a mainstay on WWE TV for the past several years. Soon after making his WWE debut, the Celtic Warrior went on to win the WWE Championship from John Cena, and he never looked back.

During the course of his career, Sheamus won several World Titles and was on his way to becoming a Grand Slam Champion. Over the past few years, the Irish star was in pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship since that was the only title that eluded him. However, his goal of becoming a Grand Slam Champion may never happen. Recently, it was reported that WWE asked the Celtic Warrior to restructure his contract, which would’ve resulted in him taking a pay cut. However, the former World Champion rejected the contract extension, and WWE canceled his deal instead.

How was Sheamus’ relationship with Triple H before his WWE release

During a recent Self Made Session, Self Made Pro reported that Sheamus gave up on WWE creative when he wasn’t chasing the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40. He said that it was supposed to be the Celtic Warrior and Bron Breakker for the title, but they did that in January and moved on. He also claimed that during this time, some of the older talent like Sheamus and The New Day realized things were changing significantly, and it even became challenging to get a hold of Triple H.

“I was told that Sheamus gave up on WWE Creative when Mania 40 wasn’t him chasing the IC Title. He was of the belief that there was going to be something with him and Bron for Mania 40 IC belt, and they ended up doing that in early January and kind of moving past it and he was kind of just taken off TV for no reason.

It was around this time that him and The New Day and a number of other veterans realized that things had really changed significantly, not just in terms of their usage but also communication with the office. It became even harder to just get Triple H on hold for conversations.”

Self Made Pro also claimed that Sheamus was taken off TV even though he was healthy, and this is when he knew that creative was cooked, and he decided to ride out his deal as long as the money remained the same. However, that all changed when WWE asked him to take a pay cut.

“Sheamus was not called to a number of TVs that he was healthy for, which is very odd. And it was very minimal communication as to why. At that point, I was told that he knew, like, ‘All right, creative is just cooked. It is what it is.’

But it wasn’t like one of those things where he knew that and went, ‘I want my release.’ It was just like, ‘Okay, I now mentally accept this is what it is now and creative sucks, but like have fun.’ And that’s what he was hoping to do with the Rusev thing. He wanted to work with him. He pushed to work with him and he was hoping that it would end up with them tagging, which was like one of the early ideas. I think for Sheamus, as long as the money wasn’t affected, he was going to just ride it out even though he knew like s**t was f**ked. And obviously now the money was affected because they asked him to take a cut.”

It will be interesting to see what’s next for Sheamus after his WWE exit.
