Kevin Owens Breaks Silence After Sami Zayn’s WWE Title Loss
Kevin Owens has broken his silence on Sami Zayn’s recent title loss.
Owens and Zayn are real-life long-time friends who have previously served as the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.
Following his rivalry with then-champion Cody Rhodes and Gunther, Zayn was added to a title match at WWE Night of Champions.
While Zayn had contested for the major title earlier, he had never won it. However, during the Saudi Arabia PLE, the Canadian wrestler overcame the odds to pin Rhodes and become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
Later, WWE shared a video of him celebrating with Kevin Owens and Becky Lynch backstage.
Kevin Owens even shared a wholesome post on X, congratulating his compatriot on a well-deserved title win.
I’ve missed a lot of things I wish I hadn’t in the last 15 months because of this injury but today is, by far, the one I wish I had been there for the most.
He has brought out the best in me as both an ally and a foe. That’s because he is THE best.
When you’re consistently that good for that long, you become undeniable.
Sami becoming WWE Champion was inevitable. He has deserved that moment for a very long time and I am so happy to see him finally get it.
Now enjoy these pictures of me annoying him at various stages of our careers. The last one is him putting on my sock in a hotel room in the middle of nowhere in Texas because I thought I had broken my back the night before and could not move. He had to help me put on my boxers too.

Kevin Owens Reacts To Sami Zayn’s Title Loss On WWE Raw
Sami Zayn’s title celebration on SmackDown was cut short after it was announced that he would be defending the title on Raw. In a match between Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, Rhodes emerged as the #1 contender.
However, on July 6, The American Nightmare was taken out by Gunther backstage, rendering him unable to wrestle.
Hometown hero and the returning CM Punk replaced Rhodes in the main event to challenge Sami Zayn.
While both wrestlers put out an exceptional match, Zayn left the arena empty-handed, something Kevin Owens broke his silence on later.
Taking to X, the Prizefighter shared an image of The Boogeyman holding a clock, which read 9 o’clock, which may be a reference to Zayn’s 9-day title reign. Some fans have also speculated that he is teasing his imminent in-ring return.

Elsewhere, Becky Lynch did not remain silent either. The former Women’s Intercontinental Champion claimed that her friend was robbed.
Sami Zayn’s defeat on Raw came as a surprise to many fans, who expected him to hold the title at least until SummerSlam, which is scheduled for August 1 & 2.
Kevin Owens, meanwhile, has yet to return to the squared circle since sustaining a neck injury in early 2025. He was last seen at NXT’s Great American Bash recently alongside Busted Open Radio’s Dave LaGreca.
