BREAKING: CM Punk Returns On WWE RAW After 78 Days
WWE had announced three massive title matches for tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW and saved the biggest one for the main event, where Sami Zayn would defend his Undisputed Championship for the first time.
Sami Zayn was set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in the final match of the night against Cody Rhodes, but the American Nightmare was attacked by Gunther at the beginning of the show.
As Rhodes was examined by doctors, it was confirmed that he would be unable to compete in the title match tonight. Zayn was relieved after hearing the news, but his happiness was short-lived as Adam Pearce announced that he would defend his title tonight as planned.
CM Punk makes long-awaited WWE RAW return
With the show taking place in Chicago, the crowd chanted for CM Punk to be Sami Zayn’s opponent. Adam Pearce was searching for Zayn’s opponent as the main event headed close when Nick Aldis confirmed that he’s already arranged Sami’s opponent.
As Sami waited in the ring to find his challenger, the feed cut to the arena shutter lifting, and CM Punk was revealed to be standing behind it as the crowd erupted in a cheer.
