BREAKING: Cody Rhodes Injured In Brutal WWE RAW Backstage Attack

This week’s edition of Monday Night RAW aired live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois and WWE didn’t hold back in setting up tonight’s show to be a massive one.

Three major title matches were scheduled for tonight’s show, including Sami Zayn’s first-ever defense of the Undisputed WWE Championship since winning it at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

The Last Real Good Guy was scheduled to take on former Champion Cody Rhodes in tonight’s main event after the American Nightmare defeated Jey Uso to come the number one contender on SmackDown last week.

Cody Rhodes attacked by former WWE Champion

The two challengers faced each other backstage just as Monday Night RAW went on air and had a heated exchange of words as Sami Zayn claimed that he would leave the Allstate Arena as still the Undisputed Champion.

However, just as the champion walked away, Cody Rhodes was attacked by a returning Gunther, who hadn’t been seen since Night of Champions. He clubbed Rhodes with a forearm strike to the back of his head.

He then put him through a table with a massive powerbomb before turning his attention to Zayn. He called him a disgrace and a fluke of a champion and warned him that he’s coming for the title.

After issuing a warning to Sami Zayn, Gunther turned back to Cody who had stumbled to a car backstage, and the Ring General kicked the door hard, smashing Cody’s head between the door and the body of the car, leaving the American Nightmare bleeding from his ear.
