Blockbuster Roman Reigns-Seth Rollins WWE Segment Slammed: “It Was Just Not Good”

A former WWE name criticised the recent big segment between the World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins.

Roman Reigns has been a dominant World Heavyweight Champion since WrestleMania 42. On the other hand, Seth Rollins has been feuding with Bron Breakker and The Vision for the past few months. At Night of Champions 2026, Seth defeated Bron in a brutal steel cage match to conclude their rivalry.

Following his big win over Bron Breakker, Seth Rollins confronted Roman Reigns on RAW last Monday. Seth challenged Roman for a World Heavyweight Championship match while recalling their long and storied history. Reigns accepted the challenge, and he is officially set to defend his World title against Rollins at SummerSlam 2026.

The segment from RAW was well received, and many fans have expressed excitement for the match as well. Meanwhile, the former WWE name, Stevie Richards has slammed the promo segment between Seth and Roman from RAW last Monday.

The big segment featuring Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins on RAW got criticised

Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, the former WWE star claimed that Seth Rollins is politically aligned with Triple H, as he is getting a lot of chances:

He’s very talented. He’s a hell of a worker, heck of a worker. Sorry about that. But at the same time, he’s so politically aligned with Triple H and the office. They love him. They give them all the chances in the world.”

Stevie Richards further stated that the promo between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins felt like a go-home show type promo, and it was for each other, not the audience:

It felt like the promo was for each other, not for anybody watching, which is fine, but it’s just weird. You know what’s funny is, I was like, ‘Wait a minute. What, SummerSlam’s this weekend after Saudi Arabia?’ No, this felt like a go-home type promo. Like, didn’t it feel like that to you?”

Stevie concluded that the segment was not good:

It was almost like on the level of contract signing stuff, or we’re going to face off before we have our match, but no, we got a month before SummerSlam. So it was just not good.” [H/T ITRWrestling]
