Truth About Tessa Blanchard Heading To AEW Revealed
Over the last month, Tessa Blanchard has been heavily discussed in wrestling circles.
The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard, Tessa was reported to have left TNA after she had only returned to the Nashville-based company in December 2024.
While the reason behind her departure was debated, several reports claimed that she was forced to choose between TNA, which has a partnership with WWE, and CMLL, who share a working relationship with AEW, resulting in her picking CMLL.
Tessa Blanchard shared a video on her YouTube channel, confirming the same, while providing a detailed account of everything that transpired.
Her 2024 return to TNA was not well-received due to her past controversies, including allegations of racism and a backstage bullying incident in Japan in 2020.
Her in-ring appearances were even met with ‘she’s a racist’ chants from the live audiences. Blanchard, meanwhile, has denied the claims.
Is Tessa Blanchard Headed To AEW?
At CMLL Viernes Espectacular on July 3, Tessa Blanchard teamed up with Garra Negra to face CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone and her partner Keyra.
In a closely fought bout, Blanchard pinned Persephone to secure the victory for her team.
She then took the microphone and teased a future AEW move by claiming that she would chase Persephone everywhere she goes.
Social media was abuzz with speculations about her potential move to All Elite Wrestling, where she has not previously appeared.
Addressing the rumors, Luchablog set the record straight that Tessa Blanchard was not joining AEW, but rather it was a dig at Persephone’s numerous appearances in the Jacksonville promotion of late.
(tessa’s not actually going to AEW, this was a subtle dig that Persephone’s always going there and isn’t as much in CMLL now.) https://t.co/qnnhtiSkhj

It is thus clear that Blanchard has her sights set on the CMLL Women’s World Championship, held by Persephone.
