Dragon Lee appears to have graduated to the main roster.

The NXT star has made sporadic appearances on Raw and SmackDown but now looks to be a permanent fixture on Monday or Friday nights following a match that impressed higher-ups.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lee’s rivalry with Dominik Mysterio has been the reason for the move and the September 25th match against the North American Champion on Raw “may have sped up his timetable.” It is reported that Lee was expected to be on the main roster one year after he signed his deal that began on the developmental brand.

Lee has been feuding with Mysterio ever since The Judgment Day member made his way down to NXT and shockingly defeated Wes Lee to become the North American Champion for the first time. Following Lee losing his title match thanks to interference from Rhea Ripley, rising star Lyra Valkyria came to the aid of Lee, setting up a mixed tag team match 2 weeks later, which was won by Lee and Valkyria.

Mysterio would get his revenge once again on Lee a couple of weeks later, acting as the special referee in a number one contenders match between Lee and Mustafa Ali, fast counting a loss for the luchador.

The report goes on to reveal that Lee was debating between signing with WWE and AEW but ultimately chose WWE due to being told that the roster in AEW was “oversaturated with talent.”

Dragon Lee To Make WWE SmackDown Debut

24 hours before Fastlane, Lee has been announced for a match on the go-home episode of SmackDown. In what will be his first match on the blue brand, Lee is scheduled to face former United States Champion Austin Theory on the show.
