Kevin Owens and Triple H had an unplanned confrontation at Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXVII.

On December 14, 2024, Owens challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The Prizefighter, unfortunately, lost to The American Nightmare in a hard-fought match, but the action did not end there.

As Rhodes began addressing the live audience at the Nassau Coliseum, Kevin Owens attacked his nemesis from behind, inflicting a brutal beatdown.

The fans also witnessed the Canadian execute a piledriver, a move the promotion added to the banned list in 2000, on Rhodes. Discussion about it went viral on social media.

As Owens headed backstage, he was met by an “irate” Triple H, who confronted him for his actions, and a shoving contest ensued.

In the second episode of WWE: Unreal, fans can see that the heated confrontation was unplanned, and what happened when they both met in the gorilla position.

Triple H: Sorry. Sorry.

Kevin Owens: ‘Sorry?’ That was f*cking awesome.

Triple H: I walked out, you were right there, and I was like, “Oh, f*ck, he’s right there.” I had no prompt. “I gotta f*cking do something.”

Kevin Owens Recently Underwent Surgery

Kevin Owens has been missing in action since April 2025.

He was scheduled to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but the match was called off due to Owens’ legitimate neck injury. He also revealed that he was due to undergo surgery.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp recently claimed that Owens underwent a successful surgery on July 18.

According to reports, he is expected to miss a few more months of action due to rehabilitation, possibly even WrestleMania 42 next year.
