WWE Star Gunther Picks Unexpected Team To Win FIFA World Cup 2026
WWE’s Gunther reveals his pick for the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Gunther is considered one of the best professional wrestlers in the world today. It seems The Ring General is invested in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 as well.
Taking to his Instagram handle recently, Gunther shared a video in which he is seen spending time with his wife in his hometown of Vienna, Austria, and said the following in the clip:
[We are in Vienna today, and I let my social media team talk me into asking you what you would like to see. And I read all of it, thank you very much for all your messages. But I decided that I’m just going to go on vacation, and you can watch me do that. And also, today, a special guest] my lovely wife, my queen. So, I’m going to spend today do what I want and let you see a little bit.”
While discussing the ongoing FIFA World Cup, Gunther picked his home country, Austria, for the win, stating that they have good chances:

WWE legend is ready to be retired by Gunther under one condition
Gunther has retired legends like Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles over the past year in WWE. The WWE legend, Rob Van Dam, recently explored the idea of stepping in the ring with The Ring General.
Speaking on RVD TV, Rob Van Dam said he would want a big payday for an in-ring return to WWE:
Oh man, it would have to be a really big payday. If it was big enough, I’d be like, ‘Alright, f**k my career.’ You know? F**k that. I’ll pick up another hobby, no worries. Might not be giving up that much anyway. Who know what I’ve got ahead of me. But I haven’t had my last match, and the unknown always has value when you’re optimistic.”
Rob Van Dam also believes that his WWE return would lead to more opportunities within the company while talking about a potential match with Gunther:
I think that, yes. And I think that would be a great opportunity if I had the invite, you know? Sounds like a pretty damn great payday, and of course, after the match, WWE would be like, ‘Damn! RVD looks so f***ing good. Got to come up with more plans for him now.’ And then they would want to throw all kinds of money my way. And yeah, I think that Gunther would bring a stiffness out of me, just with what I’ve seen with his chops and stuff like that. Maybe in a way that Bob Holly did.”
Only time will tell if RVD will return to WWE to face Gunther.
