An ex-WWE Champion has decided to renew their contract with TNA.

The Stamford promotion currently has a working relationship with the Nashville-based wrestling company, which allows them to swap talents per the demands of a storyline.

Daria, formerly known as Sonya Deville, left WWE in February 2025 after her contract was not renewed. Her last match was on the February 3 edition of Main Event, where she lost to Natalya in a singles match.

During an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, she claimed that she had retired from professional wrestling, but she did not entirely rule out a possible return to the squared circle.

She was a one-time Women’s Tag Team Champion with Chelsea Green, but her reign lasted only 28 days after she was sidelined with a torn ACL. Piper Niven replaced her as the champion.

After not competing for the remainder of the year, she turned up at Total Nonstop Action during its AMC debut on January 15, 2026.

She ditched her Sonya Deville name and was repackaged as Daria Rae, taking on a new role as the Director of Operations.

Former WWE Star Signs New Deal With TNA

Many fans believe that Daria was underutilized in WWE considering her strong on-screen persona and mixed martial arts background.

The positive reception to her TNA debut was proof that she could still win titles if she chose to wrestle again.

Her current role in TNA is similar to how she was in WWE in the early 2020s, when she was named the assistant to Adam Pearce on SmackDown.

She is known for her confrontational and strict nature, and making decisions that put her in an unfavorable position with other talents on the roster.

The 32-year-old recently appeared at a virtual signing with East Coast Autograph Auctions, where she was asked about whether she would re-sign with TNA when her contract ended in June. At the time, she had not made up her mind, but the latest update confirms her future with the company.

Sean Ross Sapp and Fightful Select confirmed that the former WWE star has re-signed with TNA.

TNA Wrestling Director of Operations Daria Rae has re-signed with the company, it was confirmed today, as first reported by Fightful. The charismatic authority figure, Daria is a key part of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT! every week on AMC and AMC+ (U.S.), Sportsnet 360 (Canada) and TNA+ (worldwide).

Since making a surprise debut on the premiere episode of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC, Daria has shaken things up in TNA, going head-to-head with TNA’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella. Speaking about why she loves being with TNA, in an interview earlier this year with The Sportster, Daria said: “There is more passion, heart, soul and pure talent in this company than I think, arguably, anywhere else in sports entertainment today.”
