Chris Jericho has finally opened up about his return to AEW.

Chris Jericho has been with AEW since the company’s inception in 2019. He was one of the biggest names signed to the company at the time and brought in a wealth of experience that was beneficial to the promotion.

Jericho was even the inaugural AEW World Champion and put the company on his back during its early years. During his time with the Jacksonville-based promotion, Jericho was a mainstay on TV and was involved in several important storylines. However, that changed last year after Jericho took some time off TV after losing the ROH World Title to Bandido; this was a bit of a surprise to many fans since Jericho had not taken a long break since joining AEW. He remained off TV for several months, which led to speculation that the former World Champion could be headed to WWE when his current AEW contract expires.

However, that is not what happened. Instead, Chris Jericho returned to AEW Dynamite a few weeks ago and has been feuding with Ricochet and The Gates of Agony for some time. He even recently competed in a massive Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing 2026.

Chris Jericho couldn’t be happier with his AEW return

During a recent appearance on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Chris Jericho said that he’s happy with his AEW return and is focused on having fun at this point in his career.

“I couldn’t be happier with the first couple of months of this return and just how it’s been accepted and just how much fun it’s been. And that’s the point, Renee, at this time. If I’m not having fun, I don’t want to do it. It has to be fun. And this has been a lot of fun all across the board,” said Jericho.

The former World Champion was also happy with the Stadium Stampede match that he was part of at Double or Nothing 2026. Filming the opening credits of the match was one of the best things he’s done in his career.

“Teaming with the Young Bucks excites me. Teaming with the Hurt Business excites me,” he said. “The Stadium Stampede that we just did, which I think was the best one of all of them that we’ve had. Filming those opening credits that we based on Snatch and on the Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage.’ That was one of my favorite things that I might have ever done. Yeah, you know. So that’s to be creatively fulfilled and still put out cool product and cool memories for our fans to enjoy. That’s what excites me.” [H/T WrestlingInc.]

It’s good to see that Chris Jericho is still having fun at this stage in his career.
