Cody Rhodes has reached a major milestone in WWE.

The American Nightmare is currently in his third reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion. His current reign started when he defeated Drew McIntyre on the March 6, 2026, edition of Friday Night SmackDown to win the title.

The official page of WWE (wwe.com) has confirmed that Cody Rhodes has officially surpassed the 100-day milestone as the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Cody Rhodes first won the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Bloodline Rules Match at WrestleMania XL when he defeated Roman Reigns to complete his American Dream. He lost the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 41.

Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Championship a second time when he beat John Cena in a Street Fight at SummerSlam in August 2025. He then lost the championship to Drew McIntyre on the January 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

Cody’s first Undisputed WWE Championship reign lasted for 378 days. His second title run lasted for 159 days, and as mentioned above, his third title reign has surpassed the 100-day mark.

Cody’s recent title defense was against Gunther at Clash In Italy on May 31. He is set to face The Ring General once again this Friday on SmackDown, with Sami Zayn as the guest referee.

Speaking of Zayn, he slapped Cody Rhodes on SmackDown last week.

Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn’s Intense Segment on SmackDown

In the past few weeks, there has been some heavy tension between Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn, as the latter is trying to get a shot at Cody’s Undisputed WWE Championship.

This week, the two stars had an in-ring confrontation, which turned quite hostile. Cody and Sami talked about some things, and it was all good until Cody told Zayn that the fans used to love him, but now they hate him because of what he has become.

Cody said that Zayn has become very desperate for a World title shot, which made Zayn angry, and he slapped Cody. Zayn apologized repeatedly, but Cody responded with a slap of his own.

This agitated Sami Zayn further, and he left the ring to grab a steel chair to attack Cody Rhodes, but then decided not to. This storyline might eventually lead to a payoff where fans may see Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn fighting over the Undisputed WWE Championship.
