WWE Planning Cody Rhodes Vs. Roman Reigns III?
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have faced each other twice in WWE so far.
Their first encounter came at WrestleMania 39, when Reigns retained the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, at WrestleMania 40, he lost the title to Rhodes in a rematch.
Since then, both stars have gone on to have their own storylines, but recently they crossed paths again. After Reigns retained his World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Italy, he fired some shots at Rhodes.
Now they know who the Head of the Table is. Who the captain of the ship is. QB1, f*ck that noise. It’s the Tribal Chief
The American Nightmare responded to the jabs during the post-show panel:
Roman doesn’t have two wins over me. I don’t have two wins over him. He beat me once, and I beat his ass once. So, I don’t know… add him to the list. Easy to find, hard to get. And that goes for Roman as well.
WWE Is Not Planning Cody Rhodes Vs. Roman Reigns III
Later that same evening, they bumped into each other backstage and had an intense stare-down for a couple of seconds. The intense stare-down led to speculation that WWE might be planning to book Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes III this summer.
WrestleVotes was asked about this topic during a recent Q&A session, and they denied WWE was making any such plans:
“To answer your question about Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, I have been told there are no plans to do that match in the summer at all.”
Reigns and Rhodes might not face each other later this summer, but they are apparently about to get involved in the new Bloodline story. The Tribal Chief intends to bring back the Bloodline rule, and for that, he needs to take down Rhodes.
Therefore, he asked his cousin Jey Uso to go after The American Nightmare’s Undisputed WWE Title on Raw last week.
