The current World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns, surprisingly didn’t mention The Rock on WWE RAW when it was expected during his promo.

Both The Rock and Roman Reigns have made a mark on the pro wrestling industry in their respective eras. While Rock is deemed one of the greatest of all time, Roman has been at the top for many years now and is currently one of the biggest stars in the wrestling world. It is widely known that The Great One and The OTC belong to the same Anoa’i Samoan Bloodline.

This week on RAW, Roman Reigns showed up alongside his new Bloodline faction with The Usos and Jacob Fatu. The OTC went through the history of the Samoan Bloodline in pro wrestling. Roman mentioned The Wild Samoans, Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, and also his glory days as the Tribal Chief a few years back. However, Roman shockingly omitted The Rock while mentioning his Bloodline’s history.

Many fans also believe that Reigns willingly didn’t mention The Rock during his promo on RAW in order to tease a potential match between them. It is a dream match that many fans have been asking for the past few years.

Roman Reigns on his relationship with The Rock

During an interview earlier this year, Roman Reigns opened up on his real-life relationship with The Rock. Roman revealed that Rock’s grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, mentored his father and uncle, and also opened up on Dwayne Johnson’s contribution in wrestling:

Dwayne’s grandfather, the High Chief Peter Maivia—he’s the one that mentored my father and my uncle and taught them the ropes of the business. And from there it just completely bonded our families, and the history’s there. I think it would still be close to where it’s at, but you would have a couple missing gaps. There would have to be people to replace my family—and then also just Dwayne in general. It would take a lot to fill those voids for sure.”

Especially what he’s done—it’s unspoken. Nobody ever hit the scene like Dwayne did and then was able to just move on to the next thing. To be able to keep it there like that—that was perfect. Three or four years of perfection, and then to smoothly transition to the big screen. No one will ever do that. It’ll never happen again.”

Only time will tell if Rock and Roman Reigns will bring their dream match to reality.
