Jade Cargill Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction In WWE; WWE Veteran Reacts
Jade Cargill has received praise from a WWE Hall of Famer, although not necessarily for the reason she would have liked.
Cargill last competed on the June 12 edition of SmackDown, where she faced Charlotte Flair, Lyra Valkyria, and Sol Ruca in the first round of the Queen of the Ring tournament.
Competing as the only heel in the match, The Storm dominated a good, solid portion of the match before the other women kept her from dominating more.
During one of the spots on the top turnbuckle involving Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill, Flair inadvertently pulled Cargill’s wig loose.
Cargill failed to position it to its original spot, resulting in her mostly fighting one-handed while using her other hand to hold her hair.
Flair went on to win the match by making Valkyria submit to her Figure 8 submission and securing a semi-finals match against WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Their bout will take place on the upcoming SmackDown episode.
Meanwhile, Jade Cargill took to X to address the embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, admitting that she had gone through one of her biggest fears in life.
WWE Hall Of Famer Lauds Jade Cargill For Professionalism During Wig Mishap
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray praised Jade Cargill for maintaining her temperament during the Friday Night SmackDown wig mishap.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, the former multi-time tag team champion gave a shout-out to Cargill, stating that her handling of the unfortunate situation showed her perseverance.
I’m giving a shout out to Jade Cargill. You were put in a very rough uncomfortable situation. It happens, wardrobe malfunctions happen, hair extensions get pulled out. Dudes have crapped themselves in the ring, anything can happen.
It’s not easy to go out there and perform in front of thousands of people in the arena, and millions of people watching at home.
For a woman to have her wig come off on national television, it’s pretty easy to roll out and roll under the ring and hopefully nobody sees you, right? She persevered, she kept on trucking and she got through the match. She did what she had to do. Good job, Jade. [H/T: WrestleTalk.com]
Cargill’s evening did not end with her loss in the QOTR tournament.
Later in the night, her teammates Michin and B-Fab faced Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green in a tag match.
While Cargill was not by the ringside during the match, she showed up in its closing minutes and took out Stratton, leaving Green at the mercy of Michin and B-Fab.
The heel duo made light work of the Canadian superstar before sealing the victory.
After the match, Stratton tried to attack the trio but fell to the numbers game. Cargill, who had a headband to assist her wig this time, hit Stratton with her Jaded finisher.
She then grabbed Stratton’s United States Championship, teasing that she might challenge her soon.
Meanwhile, Stratton was added to the WWE Night of Champions poster recently, replacing the injured Rhea Ripley. It remains to be seen whether Stratton’s title match with Cargill for the US title takes shape at the Riyadh PLE, scheduled on June 27.
